This page compares TV antennas so you can see how they perform on an apples to apples basis. The "Stationary" and "Max" numbers are the test results. You can see what these numbers mean and how the tests were performed on the bottom of this page. The main thing to know is when the antenna was kept stationary, the better it performed the higher it's shown on this list.

I have no affiliation with any of the makers of these antennas and I paid for all of them. In other words, I have no bias towards any brand. I will test and add more antennas to this list as time goes on. If you have a specific antenna you would like me to test, send me a message and I will consider it.

About these results

1) Test method
Each antenna was tested in the same location and the results were recorded using a Winegard signal strength meter.

2) Frequencies tested
I am only able to test the frequencies in my area.

3) What the numbers mean
Stationary Number
The antenna was not rotated while the frequencies were tested. If a tested frequency showed a reading, it increased this number by 1.

Stationary Sum
The antenna was not rotated while the frequencies were tested. I added all the signal strengths together. A higher number means stronger signals are delivered to your TV.

Max Number
The antenna was rotated for each frequency to get the maximum possible signal. If a tested frequency showed a reading, it increased this number by 1.

Max Sum
The antenna was rotated for each frequency to get the maximum possible signal. I added all the signal strengths together. A higher number means stronger signals are delivered to your TV.

4) Directional/Non-directional
If the antenna is a non-directional type, only one test was needed because rotating the antenna wouldn't change the readings. This means the stationary and max numbers are the same.

5) Test timing
Because real world conditions change, if I tested an antenna again I'm sure the numbers would be slightly different. I'm also quite confident the different readings wouldn't be enough to significantly change the overall results.
